Edinburgh Quaker Meeting House

Looking at the work of 20th century artists who have had personal faith or a philosophy of life forces in nature and humanity that was inspirational. Stanley Spencer, David Jones, William Wilson, Joan Eardley and Eduardo Paolozzi all have featured in shows in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art over the last 31 years.

Fiona Pearson was a senior curator there for 25 years, working in the fields of prints and drawing, painting, scripture and for 10 years was also the Paolozzi Curator. She grew up as a Quaker but left in 2005 doubtful of her pacifism and no longer certain that organised religion was the only way.
